(Updates in green are Mistara, updates in red are my own.) 7/12/01- Sitting on the grassy knowl, enjoying a time-out from his adventures, GMD thought to himself: "Should I keep working on DWH?" He pondered the idea more, and spoke to his comrades. The reaction seemed to be unnanimous; the escapade should continue. It had come to GMD's attention of what potential such a thing has, and what followers still believed in him. Still, GMD was reluctant. "But it's not fun anymore!" Then GMD recalled something he had heard before. "Work isn't fun, but it has it's rewards." So then GMD made his decision... The on-going quest was decided to be returned upon and not forgotten. DWH would live on. ALL RIGHT, I think that was a corny-enough way to start a new update, wouldn't you? I think that summed it up... I couldn't put it any better than that, I guess. Links section has once again been updated, 9 accepted... I'm still shocked at how many good/decent submissions I've been getting. Do I inspire?... No. Uhh, anyway, the link submissions are now closed for the time being, as I think the links section is plenty full of "Reviews: none" sentences now... And now, onto the already-old-everybody-knows-about-it Dragonball Site News! Both Hagemiai and DBZ Uncensored were shut down voluntarily by their webmasters, PiccoMark and the infamous Chris Psaros. Both have very detailed "goodbye" messages, of which I'm far too lazy to link to right now... and you've probably read already anyway. Not that it really has much to do with Dragonball(except, of course, emulation), but PE2000.net's webmaster, Ruckus, was ordered by the ISDA(the big wigs in charge of Sega and Nintendo's copyright issues) to shut down all his links to his roms(and as people who've visited before now, that'd be pretty much every game in existance...) or face the alternative... be sued 100,000 bucks for each one. Take a wild guess which option he chose. Now, all SNES and Genesis roms have been taken down, excluding hacks, Public Domain(freeware, fan-made) games, and Primal Rage(banned in the USA long ago). What does this mean for Dragonball emulation fanatics?... Next best place to Hagemiai for reliable Dragonball roms has been shot down, too. This can only mean one thing... having to actually SEARCH for them now! Eek! Brings back too many bad memories... I've got some submitted scans to upload soon, so I don't have an excuse to float away for another month... or at least I hope not. 6/9/01- It's been a month. Despite my raging debate at whether I should continue to work on this very site or not(don't gasp, please), I managed to spend the last two days arranging a somewhat-large update, which could have been possibly MUCH larger. It's a long story. Anyway, here's what's new. Added 34 new screen captures to the Images section. Most of them come from the Final Bout intro for the Playstation, the rest from Goku's SSJ3 transformation scene. The links section has once again been updated. For those of you who never got a response(I don't think I missed anyone, but I might have), were told they were accepted and then weren't, or vice-versa, I'm sorry. I haven't exactly been keeping track of "who's who", and just went through my mailbox today evaluating each one right after another. If you were accepted, you'll be there, so just go check. I was actually really surprised with the amount of good/semi-good submissions I got this time. You guys keep it up. I figured our work wasn't getting anyone anywhere, but I suppose I could be wrong. When DWH is listed under "Recommended" in a certain site's links section, I feel honored. Anyway, enough of that crap... time for some Dragonball site news. Here we go again. DBZ Uncensored, along with all sites being hosted by Terrashare, will be shut down. Terrashare is and will be gone. For right now the temporary URL is here. Jon Allen paid a trip to FUNimation Productions. Quite an interesting Feature. Kaio of Planetnamek.com is going on a trip to Florida. Yay. So there you have it. Whenever Chris Psaros finds a new perminate host for DBZ Uncensored, I'll update the link in the Links section. Later. 5/9/01- Added several links to the Links section, six to be exact. Some submitted, some I just forgot to add before... Oh yeah, I also signed up for Planet Namek's Community News deal recently. Yay for me. 5/3/01- Yes, "that" day has finally happened. No silly, not "the" day... "that" day. The links section has been updated. Finally, the only section of the site that hasn't been updated since day 1, has been reformated. This new revamped links section now doubles as the "Site Reviews" section... all in one. I've been planning this for a long, LONG while. Along with it is a review of Planet Namek, which is all I've found time to review at the moment. 4/29/01- I really should update more. Anyway, there's yet another free-art section on this site. The images portion of the site has been expanded to include trading card images as well. That's right, we've got another 131 images ready for you to violate in whatever way you see fit. I HOPE to concentrate more on the tutorials and some more text-oriented content in the near-future, as well as improving our already-existing pages. Til next time.... 4/25/01- As luck would have it, Daizenshuu EX finally got their new host today. Erghh... the new link, http://vegex.pokeball.net/, has been added to the links section... 4/24/01- Just doing some spring cleaning today, so to speak... fixed up the links in the Links section, made a new intro on the main page... I haven't changed that thing since the day DWH opened. 0_0 Speaking of links, I forgot to mention Ginga Giri Giri!!! has now switched servers twice due to the evil CVG.net. I knew The Crystal Video Game Network was a disaster waiting to happen... of course, the link has been fixed. Since I've actually found someone who has used some of my graphics... here's a link to the place. For once I'm not one to judge, just happy somebody's getting some use out of them... added to the Honorable Mentions, as well. 4/18/01- Yes, you aren't misreading, you aren't intoxicated(or are you?).... I've updated again. Within a two day period. Someone call the fire department, something's definetely wrong. Those mastheads are here. Wasn't expecting that so soon, eh? All 100 of them. And no, I didn't pre-determine that number. Just the luck of the draw, I guess, to end up with such a round number. Anyway, brings the grand total of logos up to 154. In the process I've changed the layout of the Mastheads section to make room--there was just WAY too many to have all the images showing up on the page. In the future I'll clean that up some... Recently, alot of DBZ sites have been shutting down or having problems. #1 reason why: money. Those banner ads aren't bringing in as much dough as they used to(did they ever?), so now alot of servers are going nuts whilst they run out of moolah. For instance, Efront is no longer accepting any hosts whatsoever. What does that have to do with anything? Sreanime.net is down because of that. And Sreanime.net hosted Daizenshuu EX and Temple of Trunks. Do the math. Apparently, Efront's demise is mainly due to their jerk CEO. DZEX is currently residing on Vegetto EX's old AOL Page, with the news that they'll be switching servers soon. Temple of Trunks has already found a new server at the omnipotent Dragonball Daizenshuu. Majin Planet's apparently down as well. Who knows what could happen next... seems the overly-popular sites are crumbling, and the smaller ones may just take the lead(yeah, I wish). Who knows. I'll fix those links in the Links section soon... 4/16/01- It's been awhile again... was I missed? Anyway, the layout has obviously changed. Better, eh? Odds are it will be tweaked slightly here and there in the future, but for right now the basics of this slightly-different, yet improved layout is up. I still haven't finished those banners-- I know, everyone's on the edge of their seats in suspense. But I WILL finish them. Promise. Now forget what you were doing/thinking and go post messages at the Discussion Board. 4/4/01- My first update here--I'm sure you're all so excited. Anyway, I added another tutorial "How to get Hits". I'm pretty sure even veteran webmasters will learn a thing or two here. No, it's not finished yet--but a good portion of it is up. On a minor note, I also began going through the site and added spaces after stuff like commas and periods. Not a big deal to you--but my eye freakin hurt, and I told GMD he should've put spaces in since the beginning. Anyway, expect a lot more pretty soon--including a new free art gallery. 3/25/01-Not really an update today, just had to make note of a few things... First, I forgot to mention last time that I also added about four new images to the Clipart section. Just scouters, basically, but those seem to be pretty darn popular. Second, I feel I shouldn't bother keeping it a secret... I had to alter the way updates are handled(slightly) to prepare for this anyway. The one who inspired DWH in the first place, Mistara(you long-time visitors have seen me mention her name; matter of fact you still can...), is the "friend of mine" who's the new co-webmaster. It's really no HUGE news or anything... but I figured I'd explain it to avoid confusion. Those banners are slowly proceeding... but they ARE on their way. Later. 3/19/01-It's been quite awhile-- but don't think I've left again. Within the past month I've been not only busy(and lazy), but have been preparing for one of the last few graphical updates. And, of course, this is it. Added a whoping 122 backgrounds to the Backgrounds section, and doing a bit of renovation to it in the process. That puts the grand total up to 343... now just take that number, 122, and add a few more onto it. That's about how many new mastheads will be on their way... after that, it's pretty much guaranteed the DB graphics will be done for awhile. I know, I said before that I'd stray away from doing this alot anymore... but there was ALOT of images out there that I hadn't used, and that COULD be put to good use. Therefore, I had to start making them again :). Once the DB graphics are complete, I'd like to start making other types... like from video games, for example. But that'll only happen when and if the Dragonball graphics are pretty much done with, and if of course I want to ;). Of course by now everyone's noticed I put the table layout on every page... I really should have done it from the get-go when I put the new layout up. But it took me awhile to figure out that it was possible without having to update every page(by removing the SOTW and DBZ Top 50 and leaving them on the main page only), so that's why I did it. Anyway, it looks alot better now, eh? An old friend of mine will more than likely be joining as Co-Webmaster soon, so the updates probably won't be as scarce and, of course, I'll no longer be the sole-maintainer of the site. I won't reveil any details, as I like to keep everyone in suspense(hey you, the guy who fell asleep... I'm talking here!). With this happening, odds are I/we might change the way updates are handled... Until then... later. 2/26/01-Not much today,but this could be the start of what I hope to be many more "written" updates(non-graphical,like reviews and such). For the first time since this page's opening in November,I've got a new Tutorial.Dragonball Z Site Primer #4:How to Create a Banner.I figure this should be pretty enlightening to some,since at Message Boards and what not I constantly hear that exact question.Or to be more precise,how the whole image-uploading process works.Don't worry,the primer covers that too.Lastly,I've added a sort of Miscellaneous page,called the Honorable Mentions.Just about everything you'll find there has nothing to do with DWH,but I really had no choice but to create it.Enjoy. ...Anything else?Ah yes.Since I do cover DB sites,I figure I should report thist to those who have lost hope in the man.Greg Werner has been planning to update his God of DBZ Info page,The Ultimate DBZ Information Site,with an ACTUAL update.Holy crap.Unbelievable.Fans of this legendary info hero should definetely keep their eyes open for this.On another everybody-knows this already note,Dragonball will apparently air on Toonami in the near future.Seems they're more interested in DB due to their being more episodes than in GT,and with good reason.Dragonball's better anyway.Anyway,ta ta. 2/21/01-Well,I couldn't contain myself to do that "BIG" update...waited two days.Awww,such a shame... Oh well.As you can all easily tell,I've changed the layout dramatically.That's the big thing.I got fed up with the frames layout to a certain extent,and couldn't do much with it.So now I've adapted this much cleaner,easier-to-use layout.Pretty nifty,huh?If you've got something to say about it,feel free to do so in the Guestbook or the forums(I'll be adding a couple actual discussion forums soon to the board for that sort of thing). What else?Oh yeah,my email address has changed for the second time.Cheat Code Central's just plain stunk the majority of the time...I prefer my new(and not so much different) one better.Until next time...that is all. 2/19/01-Another graphics update,but this one's kindof small...added 6 new mastheads in the other logos section,4 new backgrounds,and one new seperator that I forgot to add before.That puts the total up to 217 now,and me just about finished with the graphics for the time being. I've got something "BIG" planned...it won't happen for awhile,but when it's ready hopefully everyone will be happy.And no,I won't reveil it yet.And no,hopefully it won't just turn out to be something stupid.It should be pretty good.Uhh...anyway,I've said enough.Ta ta. 2/9/01-Guess what time it is,kids?It's Late Night Update with GMD! Not much graphics-wise...just added 14 new,non-animated SNES clipart to the Clipart section,and added a Screen Captures section for all my screen captures of old.Oh yeah,and I added a Guestbook.Nifty.As Majora's Mask calls me even more,I bid ado. 2/3/01-First of all,I should say this.I have no idea what I'm doing here.I finally get Zelda:Majora's Mask,and what's the first thing I do?Go update my site...heh heh.Oh well.It's not much today anyway... More and more graphics keep coming...added 10 new clipart,3 backgrounds,and two new mastheads today,putting the grand total of graphics up to 192.Just eight more and I'm at 200... Lastly,I've added a small message board today for the sole purpose of submiting work.Instead of going through the hassle of having to send me the links for your graphics through email,you can just post them at the forum.It's alot easier.Anyway,it's been added to the main page,but if you're too lazy to hit "back"(you never know) here's the link.Remember that you MUST be a registered EZboard user to post,so have at it.That is all. 2/1/01-Not really an update today,just forgot to mention something yesterday(you didn't think I'd actually update two days in a row,did you?).Last Sunday at Starmen.net(the best Mother/Earthbound site around) my fanthoughts editorial was accepted for the Gamecube/Mother 3 topic.Not really a big deal to most of you,but I've never gotten ANYTHING listed at any site that's actually considerably big.Eh,well...here's the link.I'll probably add a screen shot for it in a couple days just incase the page is deleted,forgotten,etc.Also,I've moved the updates here to it's own page,as you can obviously tell.That is all. 1/31/01- End of the month update...everybody say "WHOA"! Not much today...just added the ability to choose frames or no frames,making those who still refuse to upgrade their browsers to a more capable one that can handle frames(yes,I catore to all of you) can view the page without frames.Nifty.But do you think that's all?Do you think I'd just leave you with that?Of course not!Added 3 new logos,4 new backgrounds,and a clipart image of Puar.Wow.8 new graphics.Not exactly my regular huge update,but inleast it's something,eh?Later. 1/28/01- I promised more updates...and I got one heck of one today... With the help of some expert video game sprite/rip makers,Grand Pooj and Crazed Opossum(http://www.geocities.com/tabapage/),my huge update I planed got even bigger...so here's the laydown on what's new: -32 new clipart,composed of many animated gifs(I also rearanged the clipart section to make room for all this). -14 new banners,located in the Others,Vegita,Piccolo,and Goku sub-sections. -20 new backgrounds. -5 new seperators,donated by GP and CO. -Total:71. That's pretty much the whole scoop...I finally got the total graphics count over 100,as you can see.Expect more updates with the help from these nice guys who I just spoke to one day,mentioned that they are gif-crazy,and the two decided to help out.Go fig.I'm also in the process of doing two things:changing the layout so you have the option of frames or no frames,and getting a friend of mine to write site editorials for an upcoming Editorials section.If anyone else is interested in writing any editorials about certain DB sites or whatnot,head to the Submit Work section.That is all. 1/19/01-Yes,I know I said no more updates,but I just couldn't hesitate.Kinda subtle for a guy who hasn't updated in three monthes,eh? Welp,I just decided I couldn't stand it.The site's been getting plenty of hits in my opinion,and that's based on the fact I barely advertise it(except my *ahem* link at Anipike and DBZ Search... *chortle*).Anyway,I noticed the hit ratio's been going down ever since I made note of no more updates,plus I just decided there still was/is MUCH more I can do with this if I try hard enough.Therefore...updates have begun again. First off,I changed the sidebar completely.Looks alot more professional now.Second,the Clipart,Backgrounds,and Mastheads sections have been updated quite well,now putting the maximum Free DB Graphics here up to a whopping 98 total(still haven't hit that 100 mark!).Which also reminds me...from now on,I'll begin tracking the site's progress here by number of web graphics.Sounds kindof dumb,but it can give everyone a chance to just see how much time I've spent on this just by looking at the numbers ^_^. Anything else?I changed the logo again,this time probably for good.Looks alot more..."fitting" than before.That's about it...I'm back now,so DWH is likely to grow more and more since I've opened the flood-gate for updates again.No,I can't say they'll be as constant as they were before I officially "finished" the site before,but I DO have plans for this,and want to continue to work on DWH.Heck,my site's still the only Dragonball site dedicated TO Dragonball sites,and still has the largest free web graphic count for the series to date.Many sites have been copying my idea lately with their own little "free site stuff" sections and what not,but it doesn't bother me.I still know I came up with the idea first,and that's what matters :D.
